brazillian jiu jitsu (bjj)
one of the most effective martial arts for self defence, brazillian jiu jitsu (BJJ) does not rely on strength or size. rather it’s all about technique and leverage.
BJJ is predominantly ground-based and uses the principals of leverage, angles, pressure and timing, as well as knowledge of the human anatomy, in order to achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent. Unlike other martial arts that focus on strikes and/or kicks, jiu jitsu focuses on close-contact “grappling” holds and techniques, and the application of chokes and joint-manipulations.

Muay Thai, which translates to thai boxing, is known as the “Art of 8 limbs” because it makes use of 8 points of contact namely, punches, elbows, knees and kicks. This differs it from other stand-up combat sports such as boxing (2 points - fists) and karate (4 points - fists and feet).
little dragons (age 3 - 5)
IN THESE playful classes parents join us on the mat as we guide the little ones through fun games designed to help them develop confidence and comfort with foundational jiu jitsu skills. once they learn the basic techniques and build their confidence in little dragons, they will be ready to transition into junior jiu-jitsu classes (ages 5-7).
learn basic self-defence techniques while instilling the foundation principles of leverage & control through fun & games. once students have spent time learning the principles of junior bjj, they will be ready to join the kids program 7+.
junior bjj (Age 5 - 7)
Advanced kids competition bjj
for students ages 9+ looking to compete and practice advanced bjj techniques. learn the rules of competition bjj, takedowns, open guard, open guard passing, intro to leg attacks and defence.
specifically designed to suit both the physical and developmental needs of children in kindy and prep, our junior muay thai class complements our little dragons and junior bjj classes. parents join us in the class to guide the little ones as they play games to develop the skills, strength and confidence required for kids muay thai.

this 6 week program is optional if you are new to bjj. learn basic control positions, how to stay safe and the skills and confidence to join and thrive in adults bjj.
